Spending money on food

Spending money on food

Well I don't have a job to pay for food so my mom tells me that she will give me money to go get food at school or fast food.  But I feel like that would be a waste of money and that it will become really expensive, really fast.  To buy a meal at the school with a drink costs from six to ten dollars and fast food costs pretty much the same as the school.  If I only got lunch at school for a whole week, that would cost thirty to fifty dollars. I will admit, I don't like to spend money when I don't have too.  So when I go  grocery shopping with my mom, I get some food I can take to school so I don't have to make my mom buy me food at the school. For instance,at Costco we got the pizza pocket box with 14 of them for ten dollars.  At Walmart, we got twelve instant lunch top Ramen for five dollars.  I also make myself peanut butter sandwich at home for school.  All of that would last me for a few weeks or longer. Usually a lot of people would be fine taking money from there parents but it makes me feel irresponsible.  Right now, I'm going to apply for a job at Stanislaus to be a tutor for K-12.  At least then, I can make a little money and help pay my car bill instead of my mom always paying for it.

  1. I can relate to this because I also don't like spending money on food when I could just bring some from home. I have a job but buying lunch from school everyday adds up!

  2. I can also relate to this but for a different reason, I hate spending my money but since I live on campus I have to come up with food all by myself. Most of the time I try to cook but sometimes I run out of groceries and I have to buy more which is not fun.

  3. You're so lucky your mom offers you money. My mom always tells me just wait till school is over which leaves me starving everyday. I wish food was cheaper at school, but its over my budget limit.

  4. I totally understand. Although sine I live on campus I have the meal plan, but that has a limited amount of money on it. So I go to Safeway to plan out my months worth of food. Not only is this cheaper it is also healthier
